This apartment in Moscow is definitely a “love or hate” material. I found this unusual place in Architectural Digest. It’s Russian and it is full of quirky home accessories and contemporary twists. Well, I love it! It belongs to a Russian interior designer, Dmitry Velikovsky. Apparently he collects these quirky objects and furniture when he travels around the world. Notice these colourful art prints on the wall? Very unusual too. The decor is a mixture of European gems and Asian treasures, actually. Very gracefully done.

This is really a gem! I was reading through Maison & Deco magazine today and here we are, transported straight into this French chic style. This old mill was built back in 18th century by monks and has been converted into a beautiful family home by a painter, Valerie Richomme. Apparently she inherited this gem from her grandfather. The house stands at the bank of River Loiret. Ah, I love everything about this house really, shabby chic French decor, rustic furniture, and oh, beautiful home accessories with colour colour colour…! I read in Sunday Times that French chic is trendy again – of course, we would never forget a grand French way.

Hello! Yes, there is a reason why I have been away from my blog site for a while. There was a disaster about our garden decking project, unfortunately. We figured that the extension plan approved by local planning department was actually not possible to build, because they restricted the hight of the side ceiling to only 2 meters. We then decided to build a decking area instead, which we thought was a brilliant idea. Oh well, it turns out that even for building a deck we need a planning permission in our area! We were absolutely shocked because all our friends can build pretty much anything without permission what so ever. This is all down to a simple removal of permitted development right, apparently. Anyway, we were so disappointed and frustrated as you can imagine. Not a good mood to write something nice! But life goes on, so today I am determined to cheer me up with this beautiful apartment in central Stockholm. I found this architect designed apartment in central Stockholm via Sotherby’s website, skeppsholmen. It is decorated with pure white everywhere, and home accessories with bold colours are making a clear statement. Oh I love the bright and airy interior design. Yes, one day, our house will be complete and it will look just right. Hmmmmm…..

We’ve been busy this Easter with our kitchen renovation and garden decking project. So many interior design showrooms we visited! We are planning to go to IKEA tomorrow too to check on their kitchen range. So naturally my mind has been so busy with many ideas. We will go for modern kitchen design with white gloss finish. We want to keep it very simple and neutral, so that we can decorate our kitchen with colourful kitchen accessories. I love bold colours, so it is important for me to have spaces to try and match different colours – just like this apartment in Madrid I found in Elle Decor today. This beautiful apartment in Madrid belongs to an antique dealer and interior designer, Lorenzo Castillo. Dark and bold colours can be too much if you are not careful, but he mixes these colours with traditional Spanish design very cleverly. Love his colourful bathroom design too – that’s going to be our next project. Hmmmm.

Everybody is talking about re-decorating houses at the moment. It’s true, we need to retouch our house urgently. I was looking at Entertaining section of Elle Decor today and by accident found a photographer called Roger Davies. Looks like he has a studio in West Coast and New York, and takes beautiful photos of interior decor. There are so many, so I pulled my favourites from his portfolios. They are all beautiful rooms, classic wooden floor and panels, elegant table decoration with flower vases and glassware, library with quirky stools and nice table lamps. Ah I am so happy just looking at these lovely rooms.

Finally spring has arrived! Today’s temperature feels almost like summer. So obviously we are all thinking about decorating. Fresh paints and a bit of tidying up – best remedy for our tired mind after a long dark winter. I was leafing through Sunset magazine today and found this eclectic house in Seattle. Kim Clements and Joe Schneider met in architecture school, and together they created this beautiful house with a full of eclectic beauties. Their living room is decorated with bold colours and contemporary home accessories and furniture, kids rooms are a full of funky ideas for storage. And colours! This house is definitely a very cheerful one.

We’ve been busy sourcing handmade glassware from Venice in Italy lately. It’s all done (!), and now we have to wait for the shipment patiently. So naturally my thought was on Italy these days, and look what I found today! Villa Metato is situated in beautiful Tuscany countryside. Margherita and Nick moved there from London back in 2004 and converted this old farmhouse into a funky self-catering cottage. Oh, I love its quirky interior design. Bright colours are everywhere and contemporary furniture and home accessories are adding a perfect touch to this holiday cottage. So pretty.

Wedding season is coming! A friend of mine is getting married in this spring, so my eyes are constantly hovering over wedding photos. This beautiful Grade II listed Elvetham Hotel in Hampshire is really a model wedding venue if you are after a traditional English wedding. It has everything you can hope for. Its impressive exterior and of course, a long winding driveway leading up to a grand entrance for a beautiful bride, Hmmmmm, really romantic. Interior decor too, they are beautifully done with traditional taste. And look at the garden! A heaven for your photographer. Now time to think about a wedding gift – we are thinking about a designer wine decanter. Just to celebrate her perfect wedding day!

OK – are you fed up with the cold weather? Are you dreaming of stress free vacation without kids’ tantrums? Yes! Everybody is the same and I have a perfect answer for you today. This wooden farmhouse in the Beskydy Nature Reserve in Czech Republic seems to be a paradise away from our daily stress. It is surrounded by flower meadows and forest. What a charming place to stay and enjoy nature! I love the farmhouse interior design too – natural wooden floor and wall with shabby chic home accessories. A perfect retreat to nourish our tired soul. We can rent this wonderful place via Grove Cottages with only £850 a week for 13 people. Ah, let’s pack and go!

Whoa! This is something totally different. The interior of this house in London was designed by Nicky Haslam at NH Design. Apparently in the past he has designed residences for high profile and celebrity clientele including Mick Jagger, Bryan Ferry, Rod Stewart, Ringo Starr, Charles Saatchi and Rupert Everett. Wow! No wonder his design is a bit quirky. This house has a sense of old English glory, but at the same time it’s so unusual. I love the way he used various table lamps, colourful art prints, and oh, French style bathroom accessories and cookware! Totally amazed.
